When Time Falls Back

residential HVAC service - tech

This is a great time of year to remind you to check the batteries on your thermostat.

**If you have a smart thermostat that connects to an app through your phone- your thermostat does not have batteries! Congratulations on one less thing to worry about with your HVAC system.**

Sometimes can be a bit tricky to get the face of your thermostat off of the wall to change the batteries. Most of the time the best advice is to pull directly straight off the wall toward you. Give it some effort, they aren’t meant to pop off too easily.

Depending on which thermostat you have, most use AAA or AA batteries.  While they are harder to find lately, we do recommend switching to lithium batteries if possible. They corrode less than standard alkaline batteries. Speaking of corrosion, before putting fresh batteries back in your thermostat, gently wipe the metal prongs with a tissue or towel to remove any possible corrosion that may have occurred.

John and Eric shot this little video here in our office to show you the best way to remove and reinstall the face of a standard thermostat for battery changes.

They also go into a few of the basic functions of a standard digital thermostat like the Emerson Sensi in the video shown.

As always, please give us a call at the office at 916-481-0658 if you have any questions about your thermostat.  At Perfection Home Systems we’re here to help!
