Happy Mom & Pop Business Day!

We thought that this would be a great opportunity to share a little bit about our own mom and pop business story:

Local business owner Bob Kennedy

Bob Kennedy started in the heating and air conditioning industry over 50 years ago. And really if we want to go into the “way back machine” he actually started as a kid tagging along in the summer with a family friend who was a service technician in the Palm Springs area. Talk about a place to learn about air conditioning!

Out of the Air Force, Bob decided to go to a service tech trade school in Southern California. While working as a service technician for the old Trane Comfort Center he and Rita decided to relocate their family to the Greater Sacramento branch.

A few years later, with his California contractor’s license in his pocket he opened up Perfection Home Systems in 1981. Rita, already a bookkeeper professionally, was of course to step into the role in the new found business.

Bob and Rita’s daughter Jennifer grew up working in the office and warehouse. After finishing college at Sacramento State, she came back into the business where she learned the sales and operations side of things. In 2010 Jennifer took over the daily operations while Bob and Rita enjoy retirement.

In their free time, they all volunteer for a handful of organizations. Some as a family, others individually. They all also enjoy spending time in Lake Tahoe when time and weather allow.
